The UK road travel sector's payment performance is a cut above the national average. That's significant - suggesting strong financial health and good supplier relationships within the industry, although we only analysed 310 companies. We did find that regional differences in payment scores weren't actually that pronounced, with only a 9.3 point spread between the 'Unknown' companies and Northern Ireland.
While most regions demonstrated acceptable payment practices, it is hard to draw any real conclusions, with Northern Ireland (70.6) covering just 2 companies in the sample, and the South West (77.4) with only 19. The "Unknown" category has the highest average at 79.9, although with only seven companies listed.
