Lifestyle And Entertainment Payment Practices Report 2023

16 June 2024•By Alastair Campbell, Founder•Reports

UK Lifestyle & Entertainment Sector Shows Above-Average Payment Performance, But Stark Disparities Remain

The Numbers

  • 52 companies analysed in the UK Lifestyle & Entertainment sector.
  • Average PaymentCheck Score: 67.3/100.
  • UK average across all sectors: 50.0/100.
  • The sector's average score is 17.3 points above the UK average.
  • Top score: 99.1/100 (Fulham Football Club Limited).
  • Lowest score: 17.9/100 (CH CO Catering Group Limited).
  • Regional high average: West Midlands - 88.4/100 (2 companies).
  • Regional low average: East of England - 71.9/100 (4 companies).

What Stands Out

While the Lifestyle & Entertainment sector's average payment performance is clearly better than the national benchmark, the massive spread between the best and worst payers indicates significant internal inconsistencies. A score of 17.9/100 from CH CO Catering Group Limited suggests serious payment issues, directly contrasting with Fulham Football Club's near-perfect 99.1/100.

Best Payers

  1. FULHAM FOOTBALL CLUB LIMITED - 99.1/100
  2. TRADETEAM LIMITED - 96/100
  3. MORLINY FOODS LIMITED - 94.7/100
  4. WE BUY ANY CAR LIMITED - 93.7/100
  5. BESTWAY RETAIL LIMITED - 93.3/100

Worst Payers

  1. CH CO CATERING GROUP LIMITED - 17.9/100
  2. ASPERS (STRATFORD CITY) LIMITED - 25.2/100
  3. PUBLIC RESTAURANT PARTNER LIMITED - 26.25/100
  4. HOVIS LIMITED - 33.3/100
  5. WORLD BRANDS DUTY FREE LIMITED - 39.35/100

Regional Patterns

The West Midlands, with an average of 88.4/100 across two companies, shows the strongest regional performance, but the small sample size limits meaningful conclusions. The East of England's average of 71.9/100 (4 companies) underperforms compared to other regions, but not drastically. Given the limited data, more regional analysis is hard to justify.

If you're dealing with late payments, here's a late payment calculator to help you work out what you are owed.

The key takeaway: despite an average score of 67.3/100, the Lifestyle & Entertainment sector has some significant late payment issues, indicated by CH CO Catering Group Limited's dismal 17.9/100.
