The UK fashion sector shows a mixed bag when it comes to payment practices in 2024. While the average PaymentCheck score for the analysed companies exceeds the UK average, a significant disparity exists between the best and worst payers.
The spread between the top and bottom payers is quite wide – Gap Europe Limited scores almost five times higher than The Boots Company PLC. Also, the relatively small sample size (29 companies) limits the generalizability of these findings across the entire UK fashion sector.
The regional data is a bit thin. The East of England boasts the highest average score (84.6/100), but this is based on just one company, so it's hardly representative. London, with 12 companies, has an average of 67.8/100, close to the sector average.
