Company Review

Trend Analysis

VALENCIA WASTE KENT LIMITED demonstrates an average payment time of 30 days, with 61% of invoices settled within this period. However, a significant trend shows 36% of payments extending into the 31-60 day range, indicating a consistent tendency for a substantial portion of invoices to exceed initial terms. Only a minimal 3% of payments are delayed beyond 60 days, suggesting that while some payments are slow, extreme long-term delays are uncommon.

Volatility Analysis

The company exhibits a moderate level of payment unpredictability, with 28% of all payments being late. This indicates that while the majority are timely, suppliers should anticipate that approximately one-third of invoices will likely be paid between 31 and 60 days, impacting immediate cash flow. Although severe delays are infrequent (3%), the consistent percentage of late payments suggests a measured approach is needed for cash flow forecasting.

Summary Analysis

VALENCIA WASTE KENT LIMITED presents a moderately reliable payment profile; while the majority pays within 30 days, a notable portion consistently pays between 31-60 days. Suppliers should account for this extended payment cycle for a segment of invoices when establishing credit terms and managing their working capital. It is recommended to consider strategies such as stricter credit limits for new engagements or proactive invoice follow-up to mitigate potential cash flow impacts.

As a result, the payment practices reported reflect all transactions across the Viridor group plus any specific payments made directly by the subsidiary. Viridor introduced an automated invoice process in conjunction with a new group ERP system on 1 April 2018. This was implemented to deliver improved financial governance and improve the timeliness and response to the invoice workflow and payments to suppliers. A valid invoice reflects: • registered and approved supplier • purchase order number • includes the necessary details of goods/services, date and financial detail and sent either electronically to invoices@viridor.co.uk or by post. Whilst Viridor is not a member of the prompt payment code, we do adopt the principles of the code including: 1. paying suppliers on time – with average payment days which is below our standard terms and lower than 30 days 2. Clear guidance to suppliers – our terms and conditions are included within our purchase orders and on our website. 3. Encourage good practice – as part of Viridor a Supplier Code of Conduct and Sustainable Procurement Policy was launched in November 2018.
