Finally, an examination of outliers and risk factors portrays a relatively healthy sector with low credit risk. There are no companies in the critical 90+ day category, and the slowest payer caps out at 64 days. This absence of extreme delinquency is a positive indicator of liquidity. However, a late payment rate of 14.8% persists, indicating that roughly one in seven invoices exceeds agreed terms. This is likely due to administrative friction rather than inability to pay. Geographically, the sample shows a presence in the North East and London, yet the behaviour remains consistent regardless of location. In summary, whilst suppliers are unlikely to face default, they must be prepared for a rigid 33-day wait for funds, as the sector shows little inclination to deviate from this established centre of gravity.
